ALI IS OUT but ALI is not a scapegoat

UMNO Disciplinary Board and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its move to form a clean party and society, had taken the following actions against:-

> Datuk Seri Mohd Rustam barred from contesting after he was found guilty of breaching party ethics.

> He will be allowed to remain as Malacca Chief Minister.

> Datuk Seri Dr.Khir Toyo cleared and Khairy Jamaluddin found guilty but given just a warning.

Ali, 59, was involved in a three-cornered fight vs Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Tan Sri Muhammad Taib for UMNO`s deputy president post.

Ali who is also Malacca Chief Minister, garnered 46 nominations to contest the post vis Muhyiddin 91 and Muhammad 46.

The board was independent and not even the party's supreme council could interfere with its decisions. The independence of the board is to ensure the good name of Umno.

The board denies conspiracy.

Najib said ,` Ali was not made a scarpegoat by UMNO in its crackdown on vote buying in the party election campaign. `

` We have to sacrifice in party`s interests`.

`We want UMNO to be seen as a clean party`

` If we don`t change, we will be changed.`

He added that Mohd Ali would also continue as election head for Kuala Sepetang, a state constituency under the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat, for the upcoming by-election there.

Najib also said that Mohd Ali's fate now rested with the panel of appeal and whether or not a decision would be made before the party polls was up to the panel.

Meanwhile Ali said `
I accept decision with an open heart`

`I hope that this will strengthen UMNO. I am a party man and I will sacrifice anything for the party, even my life and soul.`

Hishammuddin said that he was impressed with Mohd Ali’s leadership among the younger generation of leaders.

“I am touched by his demeanour in this sad affair where at the same time, one cannot be above the party regulations and decision,” he added.

No one is above the law. We must accept and respect the board`s decisions as winds of change as something positive towards forming a clean party and eventually a clean and ethical society.Do not salivate conspiracy theories. It is not a political ploy. There is no sacrificial scapegoat.

BN Candidate for Bukit Gantang-a chosen best for the grassroots!!!.

Bukit Gantang is a small town and parliament constituency in Perak, Malaysia. It is famous for its durian orchards. There is a nice small stream at the nearby Bukit Berapit.Did you know too one of the longest train tunnel in Malaysia is also found in this hilly area.

But come April 7 , all eyes will set upon this lush greenery.

Bukit Gantang is gearing towards a by election following the demise of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party parliamentarian, Roslan Shahrum, on February 9 2009.

In the March 2008 general elections, Roslan polled 20,015 votes against the 18,449 garnered by Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi. The third candidate
M. Morgan, an Independent candidate, received 872 votes .

As a Malaysian who is going to exercise his elecgtoral rights again, it is his duty to know the man he is putting his vote for this time around. Knowing the candidate who you are going to cast the vote for helps decision-making easier and frees oneself from the hassle of political woes.

What then are the expectations of Bukit Gantangnians? A POLITICAL PUPPET ? A FEROCIOUS TIGER ? A ASPIRING BUT LAWLESS POLITICIAN? OR ONE WITH LOCAL ROOTS, BRAINS AND VAST EXPERIENCE?

This time around BN has fielded a local, Ismail Saffian to this constituency of 55,471 voters of whom 63.48 per cent are Malay voters, 26.77 Chinese, 9.71 per cent Indians and others, 0.4 per cent.

Ismail, 49, the former Bukit Gantang Umno division information chief, was chosen because he is a local and accepted by the grassroots and the Bukit Gantang Umno leadership.

Ismail, a local from Kampung Kubu, Bukit Gantang, is also the Human Resources and Management Services Director of the National Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Corporation.

The precondition was, however, imposed on Ismail is, he would not contest in the next divisional elections. In last year's divisional elections, Ismail lost to Trong state assemblyman Datuk Rosli Hu-sin in the contest for the post of Bukit Gantang Umno division chief.

The by-election is held simultaneously with the by-elections for the Bukit Selambau state seat in Kedah and Batang Ai state seat in Sarawak.

YES ISMAIL SAFFIAN YOU CAN WALK TALL FOR BUKIT GANTANG…

BUKIT GANTANGNIANS YOU GOT AN EDUCATED AND EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL FOR YOUR SERVICE.HE CAN BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT !!!!

UNICEF- A tribute to all women & mothers on this International Women`s day 8 MARCH 2009

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 March 2009 – Behind the closed door of a family home, a woman is being beaten while her children hide in the bedroom, unable to help or stop listening.

According to the UN Secretary-General’s Study on Violence Against Children 2006, up to 275 million children worldwide are estimated to witness domestic violence every year, proving that some of the biggest victims of domestic violence are the smallest and most vulnerable. Even when they are not directly being abused, children suffer greatly when they are exposed to violence in their homes, particularly when perpetrated between or against their parents.

International Women's Day, celebrated this year under the theme, ‘Women and Men: United to End Violence against Women’, is an opportunity to throw open these closed doors and understand the impact of domestic violence on children.

Worldwide, at least one out of every three women is likely to be beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused in her lifetime. In Malaysia, 485 cases of violence against women were reported to the Department of Social Welfare in 2006.

Come yee all daughters, sons and husbands-Watch this touching song video as my tribute to all women and mothers on earth on this meaningful International Women`s Day

Domestic abuse also perpetuates a cycle of violence for the next generation. Children who grow up with violence in the home learn to use violence in interpersonal relationships to dominate others. For instance, boys who saw their mothers being abused are more likely to grow up and abuse their wives.

This cycle must be stopped so that children can have the routine and normalcy that they deserve in their childhood, and be given the right to develop to their fullest potential.“Every child has the right to be protected from all forms of violence, including violence perpetrated against their loved ones. Children need to grow up in an environment that is safe and secure, where they learn that domestic violence is wrong,” said Mr Youssouf.

As 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, governments are reminded of the promise they made towards all children 20 years ago, and their obligations to protect children from violence, even if it means intervening in “private” spheres. Mr Youssouf stressed the need to engage men and boys in the fight against domestic violence, by mobilising them to recognise the needs of children exposed to domestic violence, as well as encouraging them to change attitudes and traditions that condone abuse.

Beyond the lifelong consequences for children, violence against women has enormous social and economic costs, and poses a serious threat to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. “If the world is to protect the rights of children, then we must do more to prevent violence against women and promote gender equality,” stressed MrYoussouf.

A world fit for children is also a world fit for women – one cannot exist without the other.

So WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

VOICESFROMFAR WISHES ALL OUR FELLOW WOMAN-LISTERNERS NEAR AND FAR `HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN`S DAY `..YOU ARE THE POWER AND BEACON IN YOUR FAMILIES...

ARE WE TOO MUCH INTO TECHNOLOGY???

Ever wonder what happens when we are too much into technology? Can we attritube the present day invasion of privacy as too much into technology or someone just enjoy playing pranks or just a mean to show us how our society is into real moral decay?

Can we also attritube the global economic turmoil, our political unrest and lawless culture as the result of too much into technology or some default in some intelliegence estimates of some sector or merely an outcry for a change ?

There are so many things about tomorrow, we don`t seem to understand!!! So why not just live day by day trying to understand how much we had live our lifes that have been controlled either by technology , human intelliegence , faith and sense or...???

Sit back and understand them

Wonders of credit cards in economic crunch???

Our lifestyle, food ,work and technology , and... human intelliegence !!!!

See how even our children are into technology too..???

Technological advancement does not advocate we should be lazy or too dependent /complacent in our lifes. We should have plans or intiatives in lifes especially at this time of global economic turmoil. Here`s old saying - A man plans his way but God directs his steps. Let not technology undermine our intelliegence.

And human intelliegence too does not advocate political unrest and lawless culture to get to the means for change. We should stop slandering and make economic recovery the focus of life .

For that matter, we should Kudos Anas Zubedy, the M.D of Zubedy(M) Sdn Bhd for his farsightedness and sincerity in appealing to all Malaysian politicians to stop the power chase, call for truce and focus on the economy. Quote and unquote-` whether Barisan Nasional or Pakatan leads, it is meaningless if Malaysians have no job to go to, no money to pay rent and no means to put food on the table..`.We need a caring government for the day.

Who can take care of our tomorow? Would you say our anxiousness a result of too much into technology and looming economy , our state of prayerless and fearless living, the emerging lawless culture or the never ending political unrest..???

Once again- Do pay heed to Warren Buffet`s advice --ALL HARD WORK BRINGS A PROFIT, BUT MERE TALKS LEADS ONLY TO POVERTY AND NO PROGRESS.

Sheep among wolves-morality in it !!!!!!!!!

::17.2.09-1500hrs- 938 LIVE(SINGAPORE) Radio News reported-

"MALAYSIAN POLITICIAN OFFERS TO QUIT OVER NUDE PHOTOS."

::On the same day, 17.2.09 -1700hrs-BBC LONDON Radio News reported –

"POLITICAN IN MALAYSIA NUDITY ROW"

~
`I wish to state that I am not ashamed of my sexuality as a woman and a single person. I have broken no laws. I stand by the fundamental principle in a democracy that everyone has a right to privacy..`

~`She is a single person. How can she allow a man into her room when they are not married? What`s the status of the relationship?`

~Other headlines ran array with hot shots while the Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar promises thorough probe by police..

~`You may face a jail term of up to three years , a fine ,or both, under Section 292 of the Penal Code for distributing and having in possession material containing pornographic elements..

Selangor executive councillor for Tourism,Consumer Affairs and Environment and Bukit Lanjan State assemblyman Elizabeth Wong, whose nude photographs were being circulated, has resigned from both posts.

She was also PKR Women`s Information Chief, a consultant for Strategic Information and Research Development Centre (SIRD) and was involved in peace and conflict work in Southern Thailand, Mindanao, East Timor and Aceh .

Elizabeth Wong lodged a police report after being told of the photographs that have been circulating via MMS, apparently taken with a camera phone. She claimed the entire episode as a gross outrage of her modesty, a gross invasion of her privacy and the sanctity of her personal life- a malicious attack to discredit her.

The photographs that were made available to the press showed Elizabeth Wong was asleep in her bed with her glasses on and her eyes were closed. She was partially covered with a "sarung".

She said the photographs could have been taken by her ex-boyfriend. It was rumored that the photos might have been circulated by her ex-boyfriend whom allegedly broke up recently and it was said he had moved to another country.

Nobody said that intrusion of privacy is ethical but in face of our local conservative society such nude photographs taken are seen as a shock as it was not a behavioral norm of a sensible person to do so , what more it is about a high profile of a so called- clean leader. ..

Given the benefit of doubts, she was likened a sheep to be slaughtered among the wolves. As a public figure, the nude photographs denoted a morally –corrupted / decayed misbehavior in a way that did not please the people around. She had made a mistake in her personal life by being too trusting in her ex-boyfriend.

Given the benefits of doubt, the fact remains the same - this is a moral issue. It is the issue of how one can command respect when one`s morality is at stake .

It is the issue of how one can continue to be a good sherpard when one can not rule the herd. People always associate good sherpads(leaders) with good grazing ground (ethics). How far is this true for PKR ?

On the other hand , it is also the moral issue of unethical behaviour of the ex-boyfriend. What does he gain by circulating such nude photos of her? Intrusion of privacy is an unethical act of insanity and often than not the woman is the victim of circumstances and technology is the wrongful means. Let not the victims be sheep ready for slaughter in the world of vicious wolves . Its only fair we should also deal with the predators too? How should we stop all these sex photo/DVD slandering or letting such moral misbehaviour from implanting deep roots into our society?
