FEEL GOOD OR FEAR FACTOR IN BUKIT GANTANG POLL? (Pt.2)

A CONFUSED MAN WITH CONFUSED WORDS

At the nomination centre, stammered as Pasir Panjang Assembly
At night ceramahs , blasted as YB Menteri Besar of Perak.
At the mosque, aspired to be the Imam.
On the grounds, promising the rakyat with the politics of DAP

Is this the man wanted by Bukit Gantang voters?

PAS has a large pool of talent that it could have fielded and Mohd Nizar already has his hands full trying to wrest the state government back from Barisan Nasional.

The people had been upset with the PAS leadership for being the DAP's stooge.

FEEL GOOD OR FEAR FACTOR IN BUKIT GANTANG POLL ? (Pt.1)

WHAT A FEAR FACTOR AT THIS SHOW-UP ON THE NOMINATION DAY ?

If you minus all the hired `squad- pengintip`, imported non- local PAS-PKR- DAP members who turn supporters for a day and PAS club supporters cum tok gurus from Kelantan, how many are eligible voters here?

DO NOT BE INTIMATED BY THE NUMBER IN THIS CROWD.

A government build on sympathy votes will falter and not bring progress .

3 by-elections or Bukit Gantang is no referendum to BN or Najib` s leadership

Nomination day is just over, the countdown to April 7, the big polling day for the 3 by-elections now takes the centerstage.

Often than not as deemed by the opposition, the question –Is the 3 by-elections, especiallyBukit Gantang , a referendum to BN and new UMNO president Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is inevitably asked by all?

When asked, Najib said, "they were not a good indication."

"The only referendum are general elections."

‘Please judge me by my actions’

"You are not being fair if you pre-judge somebody. Please judge me by my actions. My actions will come in due course. I have not even taken office yet. I only ask that I be treated fairly by the press."

Najib added that he has confidence in the new line-up of party leaders and that they will be able to support him and work as a team.

"We make the best of the people the party has chosen. "

"We have promised to make reforms, we have promised to make changes and we will deliver
that," he concluded.

Najib told the delegates earlier that he would try and bring Dr Mahathir and Abdullah together and consult both of them on party and national issues.

Meanwhile MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat said,
this by-election would be an opportunity for the people to decide whether they wanted an elected representative who could offer plans and strategy to overcome the effects of the current economic downturn or a leader who could only prolong the political crisis in Perak through excessive politicking.

Issues are aplenty as alleged by the opposition, amongst which is Bukit Gantang squatters`land issue.

Ong said most of the squatters were fishermen who had stayed on the land which was laid with a railway track connecting Port Weld (now Kuala Sepetang) with Taiping.

It’s an old problem. There’s a lot of such land used for the railway line but now still occupied by people, mostly families of fishermen. After such a long time, they want to know the status of the land.

“I have instructed KTMB and the Railway Asset Management Corporation to carry out a census to find out the number of households occupying KTMB land there and we will try to solve the problem,” he said after a closed-door dialogue with the Chinese community in Bukit Gantang.

Gerakan president Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, meanwhile, saidI believe the voters in Perak are mature enough to see what has been achieved by the previous DAP-PKR-Pas state government, and that they would be able to make the right choice on polling day,” he said when met here.

BN, on the other hand, is riding on the new leadership of Umno. Vice president Hishammuddin said that “

the process of returning support to BN has already begun with the new Umno line-up.”

At this time when the country is sailing through global economic turmoil, Najib, Umno and BN, together with the younger voters who make up the "altered political landscape" cannot afford to be sidetracked by local political turbulence or inter-party politicking.

The unnecessary `political bushfires` as like being lit by the government's opponents has to be put off .

No doubt BN was mandated by the people on March 8, 2008 to lead the country but it calls for a joint- force by all parties and rakyat involved.

Voters in 3 by-elections be wise enough to decide on your priority.

THE WAY FORWARD –the kinds of right COALITION Forces!!

A MOST PEACEFUL BUT EMOTIONAL TRANSITION OF POWER A WORLD CAN EVER SEE

Abdullah announced he will resign April 2 and hand over the government to Najib, completing a power transition one year in the making after the ruling coalition's shock drubbing in general elections.

I wish to retire with a feeling of peace. I want to carry no negative emotions with me," Abdullah said. He will take a short break from politics to help his wife with her garden but will continue to contribute to the party.

Najib said Abdullah has agreed not to criticize him in public the way Mahathir did.

"I believe the new leadership lineup will bring the desired change and strengthen our party to return it to the people's hearts," Abdullah said, quoting liberally from the Quran in a 30-minute speech.

After I obtain His Majesty's consent, the date for the official handing over of power would be set," he said.

After his speech, Abdullah walked over and embraced Mahathir, who attended the congress for first time in four years, apparently to mark Abdullah's departure.

DR. MAHATHIR TO REJOIN UMNO

Muhyiddin said Dr Mahathir's presence more or less reflected his recognition of the new Umno leadership line-up.

Asked why he decided to attend the assembly after having decided against doing so earlier, Dr Mahathir said Muhyiddin's election as the deputy president gave him the confidence that the anticipated changes in Umno would take place after all."I think there is hope for the future," he said.

NAJIB OUTLINES 3 PRINCIPLES FOR HIS NEW GOVERNMENT- going into businesses with high value, focusing on innovation economy and encouraging creativity. The Government was expected to allocate about RM200bil next year in its efforts to overcome the economic slowdown caused by the global financial crisis.

MUHYIDDIN PLEDGES TO BE A GOOD AND LOYAL DEPUTY

"I am No. 2. A No. 2 should act like a No. 2, and not as No. 1,"

Thus I pledge that I will be by his side, through good and bad times. I will not be the deputy that will bring about his downfall,” he said.

Muhyiddin said he would heed the lesson from history, when one deputy president had tried to act like he was the boss.

SHAHRIZAT VOWS TO CHAMPION WOMEN ISSUES and to unite the movement and take women issues to the mainstream.

Now we see hope is in the air but mindful of you all,

The COALITION FORCES in this WAY FORWARD :-

Smooth and peaceful transition of power+Abdullah to continue to contribute to the party and not criticise+Dr Mahathir to rejoin Umno+
Najib 3 principles to new government+Muhyiddin pledges to be a good and loyal No.2 and not to bring down No.1+Shahrizat Vows To Champion Women Issues+All BN COMPONENT parties to join forces and cooperate+

THE WAY TO GO- Hear the words of New Youth Chief

New Youth Chief accepts
responsibility with humility.

A New Beginning
and ...
the Way To Go .

Newly elected Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin admitted that the campaign for the post had been long and resulted in highly strung emotions, but stressed it was now time for all to “rise above our various differences.”

I moderated my expectations and my ambitions. It’s all a blessing because I really feel that I basically just came back from the dead."

I just want to now make sure, by God’s grace, I can make something good out of the opportunity given to me.”

"This is not a majority. I only won because it was a three-way fight. Thus it is important for us to consolidate our strength,” Khairy said in his victory speech.
After all, we competed as friends. In the new exco line-up we have the mix of brave youth (Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo’s campaign slogan), dare to change (Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir’s slogan) and friendship."

I urge all of you to be with me when we go to the trenches and face the Opposition. We have great challenges before us,”
he said.

Abdullah noted that in any election there would be winners and losers but when the choice has been made,it was in the interest of the party to accept the new line-up.

This applies to all--the supreme council and the wings. Only then can UMNO become strong,” he said.

Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil is the new Wanita UMNO head.

Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil unseated Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz while Rembau MP Khairy Jamaluddin won the Youth chief’s post, defeating two other strongmen.

The new Puteri chief is Papar MP Datuk Rosnah Shirlin Abdul Rashid, who beat five other candidates, while her deputy is Shahanim Mohd Yusof.

Hear the words of the out-going UMNO President

Be still and listen !!!

"For Umno to remain relevant, the party has to fuse its past strengths with the new elements necessary for survival and success," outgoing Umno president Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi today urged the people to give incoming Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak the unflinching support to enable him to take
Malaysia to greater heights.

"There are times when a decision creates controversy, there are times when a decision will not receive the support of all."

It is the duty and responsibility of a leader to decide what is best for the people and the country even though it may cause unease.

Nevertheless, despite any reservations we may have, our leader should be given the trust and stability of mind to allow him to continue to remain rational and objective.

Heavy is the trust placed in the Prime Minister, who must fulfill his obligations as leader of the party, of our people, and of our nation.

"On his shoulders our hopes rest, for he is accountable to secure our future," he said.

Meanwhile newly-elected deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin hopes Malaysians will endorse the team that was voted in by the UMNO delegates and to close ranks in face of very challenging times.

" I thank God for what he has bestowed upon me,which is a big responsibility and something that I will take seriously," he said.

The three vice-presidents are Datuk Seri Ahamad Zahid Hamidi,Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein and Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal.

MALAYSIA, 1st IN EDUCATION EXPENDITURE : UNESCO

Dear friends,

As I was reading news provided by various countries in the net, this one particular news caught my attention. For those who had questioned about what the Malaysian government has done to upgrade our educational level isn't good enough, well, here's one GOOD news that might change your mind...

RADIO PHILIPPINES
25.3.2009 – 1000 HRS

MALAYSIA, THAILAND TOPS IN EDUCATION EXPENDITURE

'Malaysia had the highest allocation of total public expenditure for education at 25%, and is making good progress towards the Education for All (EFA) goals, according to a report released by UNESCO Tuesday. The share of total government expenditure devoted to education ranged from 9% in Japan to 25% in Malaysia and Thailand, said the 2009 EFA Global Monitoring Report -- Overcoming Inequality: Why Governance Matters.

The median percentage of gross national product (GNP) devoted to education was 3.6% in East Asia in 2006, with Cambodia allocating 1.8%, compared with 6.6% in Malaysia and 4.7% in Australia. UNESCO director-general Koichiro Matsuura said when financial systems failed, the consequences were highly visible and governments acted, compared to the impact when education failed. Malaysia has also one of the highest teaching staff increase in the region, with an increase of more than 30% since 1999.

UNESCO said East Asia and the Pacific accounted for nearly 13% of the world’s out-of-school population in 2006 - equivalent to 9.5 million non-enrolled children, an increase of 3.5 million since 1999. It said 75 million children of primary school age were not in school throughout the world, including just under one-third of the relevant age group in sub-Saharan Africa.

These children are being deprived of the opportunity to get their feet on the first rung of a ladder that could give them the skills and knowledge to climb out of poverty and break the transmission of disadvantage across generations. Malaysia, along with Cambodia, Myanmar and South Korea, made extraordinary progress in reducing the number of children not enrolled, but the number of out-of-school children increased in the Cook Islands, Fiji, the Philippines and Vanuatu.

The report also showed that almost all children reached the last grade of primary education in Malaysia, Brunei and Korea, as compared to Cambodia and Laos which had the survival rates of 55% and 62% respectively. On children who completed the primary education cycle, UNESCO said girls were at a disadvantage for entering secondary education, adding that the transition rate from primary to secondary education was about 90% in Malaysia, Fiji, the Philippines and Korea.

UNESCO said a recent monitoring work underlined the appalling and unequal state of education infrastructure and quality in 11 developing countries, including Malaysia and the Philippines. In terms of fundamental resources for learning, only 20% or less attending schools with no libraries in Malaysia, as compared to the Philippines where half of students attend schools with no libraries and about the same percentage, have no textbooks.'

So what do you think? Don`t you feel lucky enough that you're born in such country that cares so much about education?

SEE WHAT BUKIT GANTANG BY- ELECTION COMING TO..???

THREE MORE DAYS to Nomination Day and eleven days to election day, you can already feel the heat.

You can see arrays of party flags flying everywhere, loudspeakers of ceramah out–beating each other at close range and faithful party workers reaching out to the locals from door to door and face to face wooing voters. No big deal that is common sight in any town that is going to have any election soon.

But what attract/enrage me most is seeing how man can use such an intelligence to create these banners below in the name of upholding ideologies.

CREATIVE INTELLIGENCE FOR THE WRONG CAUSE

Another hot happening is that local people become victims of circumstances when followers become rowdy when told to disperse because they have no permit to hold those night ceramahs.

Because of that, we need the police and FRU for the sake of the safety for the locals. And this has become a common sight -- police pondok-to serve us. So much resources wasted to contain demos cracy people.

And this is what PAKATAN leaders got to say about their Hajat in Bukit Gantang by-election

Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham(Perak DAP chief): 'the Bukit Gantang by-election is not just another by-election but a referendum for the people of Perak to decide whether the Barisan Nasional (BN)’s way to take over the state government is acceptable.'

Obvious - 'DAP is using PAS to secure its power in Perak by supporting Nizar'CAKAP TAK SAMA HAJAT

Abdul Hadi: ..'dalam Islam, rasuah adalah dosa besar yang dilaknati Allah..'- IDEOLOGY MISSION IN HEART NOT THE INTEREST OF THE RAKYAT THE PRIORITY.

Anwar: 'Nizar menjadi lambang pembela nasib rakyat pelbagai kaum di Perak'..???? OR IS THIS THE ULTIMATE END??

But guys, Bukit Gantang has 13 districts which need development for its basic needs and amenities badly and not more political instability, huh?

LOOK WHO SHOULD BE IN POWER IN PERAK...???

Like wild fire in the bush, there are many allegations hurled at the legitimacy of the present ruling government in Perak. To understand why, we should first understand the cries of Why the rakyat should support the new government in Perak.

Good to look at the facts behind it for the good of all.

6 SEBAB MENGAPA RAKYAT MESTI
SOKONG KERAJAAN BARU NEGERI PERAK.

1. Barisan Nasional Perak mempunyai 31 sokongan Ahli Dewan dan 28 daripadanya di bawah satu lambang parti iaitu Barisan Nasional.

2. Permainan lompat parti adalah ciptaan Dato Seri
Anwar Ibrahim.

5. Mengikut fasal (18)(2) DYMM Sultan Perak bolehlah memutuskan mengikut pertimbangannya sendiri melantik seorang Menteri Besar dan keengganan untuk membubarkan DUN.

6. Apabila YB Nizar Jamaluddin mengistiharkan pembubaran DUN tanpa perkenanan DYMM Sultan Perak bermakna beliau telah menerima hakikat bahawa beliau tidak lagi mendapat kepercayaan sebilangan besar Ahli Dun. Maka mengikut pertimbangan DYMM Sultan Perak, maka wajarlah dilantik seorang Menteri Besar yang baru.

PASssssssed for all ????

Pas has named its candidate at its ceramah in Simpang last night.Former Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin has been chosen as the PAS candidate for the Bukit Gantang parliamentary by-election on 7 April.

Mohammad Nizar who is Perak PAS deputy commissioner, is also the Pasir Panjang state assemblyman. He was chosen among the four potential candidates for the seat. The other in the running were Ustaz Deris, Dr.Jamnul Azhar and Ustaz Kamarudddin.

Presently amongst others, Nizar is in the midst of High Court case for his so-called` deposed` Menteri Besar post in the Perak State Government.

SIMPANG, 24 Mac :

It is also reported that Nik Aziz too opposed Nizar’s candidacy in Bukit Gantang , the citing that he should focus on getting back his `deposed` Perak state government.

My question is if later Nizar is convicted guilty or wrong against odds, will there be another by-election again for Bukit Gantang? Is there no other capable leaders in PAS ? Will the Bukit Gantang voters be swayed to give him his sympathy votes and continue on the` kecoh`/ prolong the political turbulence in Perak?

PAS for all or all will PASs huh?

Bukit Gantang voters -think right .Political stablilty is the not the thing to be PAS-sed off if to ride through this global economic turmoil. Do not PASs the baton to the wrong court.

Of the Candidates for the 3 by-elections...

Anwar`s choice for PKR candidate in Bukit Selambau was condemed as a betrayal of Makkal Sakthi and Hindraf. The ultimatum by the Makkal Sakthi to drop the candidate or face protest and lose Indian voters is expected to undermine the Pakatan campaign.

And now as expected , the drumroll continued to roll on and Anwar revealed his choice for PKR candidate for the state seat of Batang Ai`s by-election.

Former Lubok Antu member of Parliament Jawah Gerang, has been named as PKR's candidate for the April 7 Batang Ai Sarawak state seat by-election. Batang Ai is one of the two state seats in Lubok Antu parliamentry constituency. The other is Engkilili.

Gerang, 55, is a degree holder in economics from Universiti of Malaya. The former bank officer joined PKR recently after he was dropped by the Barisan Nasional coalition in last year’s parliamentary election.

Gerang, who was a senior leader in the now defunct Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS), was chosen over PKR state deputy chief Nicholas Bawin.Nicholas Bawin is made the director of election.

At the same time Barisan has named new-comer and engineer Malcom Mussen Lamoh as its sparring candidate.

While PKR is fighting an uphill battle in Batang Ai with huge and unlimited financial resources; and loosing the grip of a seemingly sure seat for PKR in Bukit Selambau , we await PAS to reveal his candidate for Bukit Gantang tonight.

Can Pakatan made a hatrick victory this time come 7 April 2009? With all differences put aside, together we shall await.

Looking at the political turmoil now,the more BN need to work harder too even though in the midst of the buzzle and hussle of the on-going UMNO election/ general assembly in PWTC.

All eyes of the world are upon these three by-election –its all about the hope of the rakyat for a just, clean and democratic country for all.

Parachute candidate or wrong DNAs in PR leadership???

PKR had chosen the candidate for Bukit Selambau by-election –S.Manikumar, 35, a multi-lingual entrepreneur and an ordinary PKR member from Sungai Petani. He has a tourism management degree and an MBA from Universiti Utara Malaysia and had joined PKR two years.

However straight after PKR de facto leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim made the announcement, there was protest from some 20 PKR supporters from the Merbok division, which had previously backed its division committee member, K.Masilamani.

It was reported that they are unhappy with Manikumar’s nomination citing him as the parachute candidate as he is an unknown and not a local born. Before the announcement, there were three front runners to the party`s candidate- Masilamani, a Sungai Petani municipal councillor, and the other two were Sungai Petani PKR division member Dr R Krishnamoorthy and the division’s committee member S. Sritharan.

Then we heard there was a protest by PKR calling for Mohd Ali to step down as Chief Minister and vacate the state seat for Bukit Baru even though the five members- appeal panel`s decision had endorsed the ruling made by the party`s disciplinary boards on him. The march did not material but several representatives led by PAS youth chief Shamsul Iskandar, arrived at Seri Negeri to hand over the memorandum to a Seri Negeri employee. Can the punishment not takes its course? There was allegation of double standard. Punishment depends on intensity and varying degree of cases.

And now after several days of speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Penang Deputy Chief Minister I Mohammad Fairuz Khairuddin has resigned.

Mohammad Fairuz who hold two Masters degrees, has often been criticised for under-performance and rumoured to be investigated in the allegation that two senior state party leaders were working with local quarry operators to cover up illegal activities.

Mohd Fairuz `s resignation or the so-called many protests of Pakatan opposition of late is not a surprise to many because it is always easy to critic than administrate. Apparently it was claimed that Mohd Fairuz had not performed the duties entrusted to him well and that it was the best he resigned.`

Their taking to streets to protest in the name of democracy is also seen as their way to vent out their frustrations or perhaps a quick –fix for the grassroots. It looks as though street demos are beginning to be a trend in our culture.

All in all these give the impression that there are too many wrong DNAs (Do Not Agree) among the PR. Even PAS spiritual advisor Nik Aziz had to remind his president~ I am the captain of the ship.

It shows that running a government is not easy. Can PR be capable leaders/ adminstrator if the government of the day is in their hands. We have seen for a year down into power ,their job is solely on critising and slandering their opposition- the BN-Umno. For some of the little developments that they had managed to take-off were made possible by the existing state of development that were rendered by the previous BN government-do not be confused. The rich fisherman in Kuala Sepetang, for an example, were not made within a year under the leadership of PAS ??? Big or small, they have benefited from the development and subsidies given by the BN government. That is a fact.

There is no concensus in their adminstrative agenda and good quality selection of leadership. Need the grassroots take to streets or demos crazy each time to have their interests heard ? If that is the way, what a chaotic country we are turning into soon?

We have to think DOUBLE hard.Who should be in power?

To the three by-election voters in Bukit Gantang, Bukit Selambau and Bukit Ai

LOOK DEEP AND WIDE INTO ALL THE HAPPENINGS,BIG OR SMALL, BEFORE YOU USE YOUR POWER. THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS.USE IT WISELY.

LOSERS IN THE LONG RUN-don`t politicise PPSMI

Of late we see so many people becoming demos crazy. They demo for this and that. Is there any rationale for all these demos crazy ?

For instance taking to the street for matters like the Teaching and Learning of Science and Maths in English(PPSMI) has much been politicised by Pakatan who claims the BN government `tidak membela nasib kaum Melayu`.

This is not a political issue to champion for. Even before PPSMI been implemented in 2003, we already witness three decades of deterioration in English in our generation.

Wanting English to be taught for Science and Mathematics does not make us a lesser Malay,Chinese or Indian. Do we have a soul if we are lacking behind universally or fail to be employed?

`The CHAMPIONS OF BAHASA MALAYSIA who took to the streets are doing the Malays a disservice. LOOKS LIKE THEY WANT THEIR RACE TO BE A FAILURE.` ( Idzan Ismail,Petaling Jaya-The Star VIEWS,19.3.09)

`We should percieve any language as a medium of gaining and generating knowlwedge rather than an obstacle to the process.` (Shahida Sulaiman,Penang-The Star VIEWS, 20.3.09)

Kudos to these fellow rakyat who are so sensible and down to earth.

Lets us make a reality check. Sixty percent of the Malay graduates are unemployed. They do not perform well in job interviews especially in multi-national firms because of English handicap. I think the so-called champions of Bahasa Malaysia should instead do something to readdress this issue of why the Malays and even the chinese and Indians are not fluent in English and some even fail in their Bahasa Malaysia exams.

We have seen the output of these three decades of poor English speaking and writing graduates in our workforce- civil sector, private sector or commercial etc...They could not fit in anyway and now almost being squeezed out with the rise of ICT in this globalised world.

We have always heard of the poor English standard in our foreign service. Our young diplomats no longer able to write communiques. The government had to retain many ambassadors on contracts although they are all well past retirement age.

Are our artistes standing at the international stage? Sad to say, except for a few exceptions, they remain contented as jaguh kampung. It is such a shame when even Indonesian leaders and singers are now well-conversant in English.

WE ARE LOSERS IN THE LONG RUN IF WE CONTINUE TO BE PERCEIVED BY PAKATAN SELFISH AGENDA.

WE MUST NOT REMAIN IN DENIAL. WE HAVE TO LOOK DEEP INTO PPSMI INITIATIVE.

Perhaps its implementaion in 2003 was a bit rush as most teachers involved are not ready. The intensive programme (EteMS) was insufficient to train the teachers within such a short period of time. We can not blame the teachers or the BN government for its shortcomings. Maybe the methodology and the mindset of the pupils themselves need to be reviewed.

The Education Ministry is still open to views and suggestions to improve PPSMI even though it has completed its cabinet papers.

In a nutshell, do not politicise PPSMI. We do not want to be a losers in the long run—already we have been through three decades of deterioration in English in our generation.

We cannot stop now. We are already seeing some results in PPSMI initial intiatives.

DO NOT LET LANGUAGE ,GMP (MOVEMENT OPPOSING PPSMI)OR PAKATAN BE A BARRIER TO YOUR CHILDREN AND CHILDREN`S CHILDREN FUTURE NOW.

ALI IS OUT but ALI is not a scapegoat

UMNO Disciplinary Board and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in its move to form a clean party and society, had taken the following actions against:-

> Datuk Seri Mohd Rustam barred from contesting after he was found guilty of breaching party ethics.

> He will be allowed to remain as Malacca Chief Minister.

> Datuk Seri Dr.Khir Toyo cleared and Khairy Jamaluddin found guilty but given just a warning.

Ali, 59, was involved in a three-cornered fight vs Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Tan Sri Muhammad Taib for UMNO`s deputy president post.

Ali who is also Malacca Chief Minister, garnered 46 nominations to contest the post vis Muhyiddin 91 and Muhammad 46.

The board was independent and not even the party's supreme council could interfere with its decisions. The independence of the board is to ensure the good name of Umno.

The board denies conspiracy.

Najib said ,` Ali was not made a scarpegoat by UMNO in its crackdown on vote buying in the party election campaign. `

` We have to sacrifice in party`s interests`.

`We want UMNO to be seen as a clean party`

` If we don`t change, we will be changed.`

He added that Mohd Ali would also continue as election head for Kuala Sepetang, a state constituency under the Bukit Gantang parliamentary seat, for the upcoming by-election there.

Najib also said that Mohd Ali's fate now rested with the panel of appeal and whether or not a decision would be made before the party polls was up to the panel.

Meanwhile Ali said `
I accept decision with an open heart`

`I hope that this will strengthen UMNO. I am a party man and I will sacrifice anything for the party, even my life and soul.`

Hishammuddin said that he was impressed with Mohd Ali’s leadership among the younger generation of leaders.

I am touched by his demeanour in this sad affair where at the same time, one cannot be above the party regulations and decision,” he added.

No one is above the law. We must accept and respect the board`s decisions as winds of change as something positive towards forming a clean party and eventually a clean and ethical society.Do not salivate conspiracy theories. It is not a political ploy. There is no sacrificial scapegoat.

BN Candidate for Bukit Gantang-a chosen best for the grassroots!!!.

Bukit Gantang is a small town and parliament constituency in Perak, Malaysia. It is famous for its durian orchards. There is a nice small stream at the nearby Bukit Berapit.Did you know too one of the longest train tunnel in Malaysia is also found in this hilly area.

But come April 7 , all eyes will set upon this lush greenery.

Bukit Gantang is gearing towards a by election following the demise of Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party parliamentarian, Roslan Shahrum, on February 9 2009.

In the March 2008 general elections, Roslan polled 20,015 votes against the 18,449 garnered by Barisan Nasional’s Datuk Abdul Azim Mohd Zabidi. The third candidate
M. Morgan, an Independent candidate, received 872 votes .

As a Malaysian who is going to exercise his elecgtoral rights again, it is his duty to know the man he is putting his vote for this time around. Knowing the candidate who you are going to cast the vote for helps decision-making easier and frees oneself from the hassle of political woes.

What then are the expectations of Bukit Gantangnians? A POLITICAL PUPPET ? A FEROCIOUS TIGER ? A ASPIRING BUT LAWLESS POLITICIAN? OR ONE WITH LOCAL ROOTS, BRAINS AND VAST EXPERIENCE?

This time around BN has fielded a local, Ismail Saffian to this constituency of 55,471 voters of whom 63.48 per cent are Malay voters, 26.77 Chinese, 9.71 per cent Indians and others, 0.4 per cent.

Ismail, 49, the former Bukit Gantang Umno division information chief, was chosen because he is a local and accepted by the grassroots and the Bukit Gantang Umno leadership.

Ismail, a local from Kampung Kubu, Bukit Gantang, is also the Human Resources and Management Services Director of the National Solid Waste Management and Public Cleaning Corporation.

The precondition was, however, imposed on Ismail is, he would not contest in the next divisional elections. In last year's divisional elections, Ismail lost to Trong state assemblyman Datuk Rosli Hu-sin in the contest for the post of Bukit Gantang Umno division chief.

The by-election is held simultaneously with the by-elections for the Bukit Selambau state seat in Kedah and Batang Ai state seat in Sarawak.

YES ISMAIL SAFFIAN YOU CAN WALK TALL FOR BUKIT GANTANG…

BUKIT GANTANGNIANS YOU GOT AN EDUCATED AND EXPERIENCED PROFESSIONAL FOR YOUR SERVICE.HE CAN BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT !!!!

UNICEF- A tribute to all women & mothers on this International Women`s day 8 MARCH 2009

KUALA LUMPUR, 5 March 2009 – Behind the closed door of a family home, a woman is being beaten while her children hide in the bedroom, unable to help or stop listening.

According to the UN Secretary-General’s Study on Violence Against Children 2006, up to 275 million children worldwide are estimated to witness domestic violence every year, proving that some of the biggest victims of domestic violence are the smallest and most vulnerable. Even when they are not directly being abused, children suffer greatly when they are exposed to violence in their homes, particularly when perpetrated between or against their parents.

International Women's Day, celebrated this year under the theme, ‘Women and Men: United to End Violence against Women’, is an opportunity to throw open these closed doors and understand the impact of domestic violence on children.

Worldwide, at least one out of every three women is likely to be beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused in her lifetime. In Malaysia, 485 cases of violence against women were reported to the Department of Social Welfare in 2006.

Come yee all daughters, sons and husbands-Watch this touching song video as my tribute to all women and mothers on earth on this meaningful International Women`s Day

Domestic abuse also perpetuates a cycle of violence for the next generation. Children who grow up with violence in the home learn to use violence in interpersonal relationships to dominate others. For instance, boys who saw their mothers being abused are more likely to grow up and abuse their wives.

This cycle must be stopped so that children can have the routine and normalcy that they deserve in their childhood, and be given the right to develop to their fullest potential.“Every child has the right to be protected from all forms of violence, including violence perpetrated against their loved ones. Children need to grow up in an environment that is safe and secure, where they learn that domestic violence is wrong,” said Mr Youssouf.

As 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, governments are reminded of the promise they made towards all children 20 years ago, and their obligations to protect children from violence, even if it means intervening in “private” spheres. Mr Youssouf stressed the need to engage men and boys in the fight against domestic violence, by mobilising them to recognise the needs of children exposed to domestic violence, as well as encouraging them to change attitudes and traditions that condone abuse.

Beyond the lifelong consequences for children, violence against women has enormous social and economic costs, and poses a serious threat to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. “If the world is to protect the rights of children, then we must do more to prevent violence against women and promote gender equality,” stressed MrYoussouf.

A world fit for children is also a world fit for women – one cannot exist without the other.

So WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT? YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!!!

VOICESFROMFAR WISHES ALL OUR FELLOW WOMAN-LISTERNERS NEAR AND FAR `HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN`S DAY `..YOU ARE THE POWER AND BEACON IN YOUR FAMILIES...
